BC2035: Imagine BC's Future
What do you want BC to look like in 2035?
What are the big ideas that will leverage our collective strengths, adapt to global trends and result in the creation of a strong economy and society that will propel our province through the fourth industrial revolution?
Over the last 60 years BC has succeeded when we think big and collaborate. Big initiatives around the province like the WAC Bennett Dam, Expo 86, the Pacific Gateway Strategy, and the 2010 Winter Olympics have made lasting impacts, but they don’t happen overnight. They take years of vision, planning, collaboration and a bit of good luck to get them right.
What activities and industries will sustain British Columbia’s economy in 2035 and what do we need to do today to achieve that future?
What will our local economies look like and how will they contribute to the province’s overall prosperity?
What do we need to start doing today – from an investment and public policy perspective – to reach our long term goals?
By leveraging British Columbia’s innovation, environmentally sustainable practices, education system, diverse economy and population we can make a meaningful mark on the world while growing a healthy economy.
The Business Council of British Columbia, working with businesses, thought leaders, and community partners across BC is developing a twenty year road map for the province’s economy.
To start the conversation, the policy team at the Business Council has prepared a working paper: Looking Back and Looking Ahead: Building a Prosperous and Resilient BC Economy.
We invite business and community leaders around the province to share with us your input and ideas to help formulate a robust plan for the future of British Columbia.
