Statement from the Business Council of British Columbia on the designation of John Horgan as the incoming Premier of British Columbia
Today, the Business Council of British Columbia released the following statement from President and CEO, Greg D'Avignon:
"On behalf of our members who employ hundreds of thousands of British Columbians in all sectors across the province, we look forward to working with Premier-designate John Horgan and his incoming government to advance a strong and stable BC economy.
"We will continue to advocate for ideas and opportunities - including those in our report, BC2035: A Vision for Economic Growth and Prosperity - that will support an inclusive, competitive economy which attracts the talent and capital necessary to create opportunities for all British Columbians.
"Creating confidence for employers to invest and sustain economic growth in a competitive world will need to be a key focus of the incoming government. We look forward to working with them to achieve this climate, which will be essential to generating the revenues necessary to support the incoming government's agenda on household affordability challenges and to invest in the social programs we all depend on, including health care and education.
"We thank outgoing Premier Christy Clark and her government colleagues for their service in support of the citizens and province of British Columbia."
