On November 1, 2017, the Business Council of British Columbia hosted the fifth annual BC Business Summit, Scaling Up for Prosperity in a Changing World. The event convened leaders and decision makers from across the province and the country to examine strategies to diversify the British Columbia and Canadian economies and encourage the conditions and actions necessary to scale up our businesses, lever our assets and fulfill our potential prosperity.

With a small, open economy, trading with the largest and fastest growing countries in the world, size matters if British Columbia is going to be globally competitive. Delegates heard from international top economic experts and thought leaders such as Brad Smith, President & Chief Legal Officer of Microsoft and John Stackhouse, Senior Vice President at RBC Royal Bank, Jon Slavet, Managing Director - U.S. and Canada West with WeWork, and Doug Suttles, President and CEO of Encana, along with other speakers and panelists.
